E’ Daniele Durante, musicista, docente di etnomusicologia del Conservatorio di Lecce e fondatore nel 1975 del Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, il nuovo direttore artistico de La Notte della Taranta. Il CdA della Fondazione ha affidato all’etnomusicologo salentino, tra i massimi esperti di musica popolare in Italia, il compito di elaborare il progetto artistico-culturale relativo alla scelta degli spettacoli che formeranno il Festival itinerante e il Concertone di Melpignano 2016.
